Objectives

As part of its weekly operations, Carrefour renews every week a very large number of promotional references, each with a different commercial mechanism. The retailer needs a system able to:

  • Automate the distribution of promotions, despite the constant renewal of products.

  • Handle a wide range of promotional mechanisms: crossed-out price, percentage discounts, fixed-amount discounts (in €), multi-buy offers, savings credited to the loyalty card, etc.

  • Guarantee strict compliance with mandatory disclosures, notably by conditionally displaying the Carrefour Card logo for all loyalty-card offers.

  • Industrialise the process so that it is reliable, scalable, and requires no manual intervention, regardless of the volume of products involved.

The main challenge: convert a very volatile promotional feed into a fully automated media system, coherent and always up-to-date.

 

Scenario

The setup relies on using a product feed supplied weekly by a third-party partner. This feed contains all the items on promotion for two sectors (supermarkets and hypermarkets): visuals, price, promotional mechanism, discount values, loyalty-offer info, etc.

ADventori implements an automated processing chain capable of:

  • Synchronizing the feed in real time as soon as it is updated.

  • Automatically interpreting each product’s promotional mechanism using conditional logic:

    • crossed-out price,

    • X% discount,

    • X€ discount,

    • multi-buy (“take X, pay X”),

    • second product at –X%,

    • discounts credited on the Carrefour Card, etc.

  • Dynamically applying the right creative template, adapted to the detected promotion type.

  • Injecting product data into the creatives (price, old price, percentage or amount discount, visuals).

  • Handling advanced conditional display features, notably:

    • automatic addition of the Carrefour Card logo for loyalty offers,

    • variation of graphic elements depending on the type of promotion.

  • Generating creations that are 100% up-to-date every new commercial week, without any manual operation.
